40 ACRES: Camp Barker, the captivating 6ft wax replica of the Lincoln Memorial by Richmond-based artist Sandy Williams IV, is set to make its highly anticipated return. Commissioned by CulturalDC and funded in part by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities Public Art Building Communities Grant, this thought-provoking piece takes center stage once again on Thursday, February 15th. 

The 40 ACRES: Camp Barker relaunch event will be held on Thursday, February 15th from 3:30-5:30PM at Garrison Elementary, 1200 S Street NW. The event is free, open to the public and will provide hot chocolate, other beverages, and small bites.  After the opening event, the installation will be on display at Garrison Elementary until September 2024.
