TORRENTS: New Links to Black Futures, an artist-led program exploring new territories in Black future-building, is looking for artists who specialize in digital, video, and motion graphics for a collaboration with WMATA’s Art in Transit digital installation series.
WE INVITE ARTISTS THROUGHOUT THE AFRICAN DIASPORA. ARTISTS AND COLLABORATIVE TEAMS BASED IN THE DMV (DC, MARYLAND, AND VIRGINIA) WILL HAVE PREFERENCE IN THE SELECTION PROCESS.

This digital art exhibition will be on display at several Metro stations across the Greater Washington area, including the digital displays at Crystal City, Farragut North, NoMa-Gallaudet U, Gallery Place - Chinatown, L'Enfant Plaza, and Metro Center and a downtown storefront through December 2023.
This exhibition will have long and short-form presentations, and submissions can be for either or both but must be pre-edited to their final vision for presentation. The short-form submissions should be 20 seconds or less, and the long-form submissions should be 10 minutes or less. Portrait and Landscape orientation accepted. All artists will be credited in the public format. Be advised this exhibition has no sound capabilities and will be open to the public, so vulgarity and nudity are prohibited. Twenty artists will be chosen through curatorial review by a board of artists, curators, and arts professionals. Announcements of selections will be communicated via email and publicly announced over social media.
